English Introduction:
Greetings! My name is Everett Largo. I am of the Red Running into the Water Clan, born for the Water Flows Together Clan. My maternal grandfather is of the Bad Lands People Clan and my paternal grandfather is of the Mexican Clan. My parents are Sarah Lapahie Largo of Hogback, NM and Larry Lawrence Largo Sr. of Crownpoint, NM. My maternal grandparents are Cora Lapahie and Willie Lapahie. My paternal grandparents are Emma Smith and Hoskie Largo. Coach Largo was born in Phoenix, Arizona and was raised on the Navajo Reservation near Hogback, New Mexico. Coach Largo is a member of the Navajo Nation. Coach Largo graduated from Shiprock High School in Shiprock, New Mexico.

Coach Largo is the Head Coach (13th year) for the Native Stars Basketball (NSB) fundamental training program. The NSB Assistant Coaches are: Coach Joe Torres (13th year), Coach Melissa Largo (13th year), Coach Michael Leonard (2nd year), Coach Ashley Susan (2nd year) and Coach Tellerita Tunney (2nd year). The NSB fundamental program is a not-for-profit youth basketball training program in Arizona (Girl's 7th to 12th grade). The NSB program is for Middle School to High School basketball players that are serious about improving their basketball skills. The NSB fundamental basketball program consist of stretching, endurance running, conditioning, ball handling drills, dribbling drills, shooting drills, footwork drills, team drills, team competition, offensive and defensive skill development ranging from the basics to the advanced level of basketball. In the past, our NSB girl's basketball teams have competed in local and national High School basketball tournaments.
Coach Largo coached at St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Coach Largo coached at St. Mary's High School from 1994 to 2007. During his 13 years at St. Marys, Coach Largo was the Assistant Basketball Coach for the Girl’s 5A-Division 1 Varsity Basketball team. Coach Largo's duties included working with the guards, forwards and post during practices, assisting with coaching duties during all games, maintaining player statistics and updating the SM Knights basketball web site. During the off season, Coach Largo assisted with the "Summer Knights" basketball team in summer leagues, camps and tournaments. SM Record (1994-2007): (2) AZ State Championships, (1) AZ State Runner-Up and (10) Regional Championships.
Coach Largo has worked basketball camps and clinics with the Tempe Eagles Basketball Camp at Scottsdale Community College, Coach Pappas Basketball Clinic in Scottsdale, Agua Fria High School Summer Basketball Camp in Avondale, Native American Youth Camp in Scottsdale, Howie Landa/Jennifer Gillom Basketball Camp in Phoenix, Joan Bonvicini Basketball Camp in Tucson, Native Stars Basketball program in Phoenix and the San Carlos Apache Tribe Wellness Center Basketball Camp in San Carlos, Arizona.
Coach Largo is the Head Coach (4th year) for the 2012 Phoenix Lady Mystics Girls Basketball team. Coach Elvira Garcia is the Phoenix Lady Mystics founder and team coordinator. The Phoenix Lady Mystics Assistant Coaches are: Coach Joe Torres (4th year) and Coach Elvira Garcia (4th year). The Phoenix Lady Mystics Basketball team consist of Native American High School female athletes from the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Phoenix Lady Mystics basketball team will compete in the 10th Annual Native American Basketball Invitational (2012 NABI) tournament. The NABI tournament will be held in Phoenix, Arizona in July 2012.


Coach Largo created the Native American Basketball Tournaments (www.nativehoops.com) information website. This site was developed to promote Native American Basketball Tournaments from the United States to Canada. This website is a free service for our Native American people. By networking with native tournament organizers, native coaches and native teams, we give our native people more opportunities to participate in more basketball tournaments.
