Comments:  4 Love of the Game introduces it’s version of the Maui Invitational, the July Jump Off. Scheduled to take place July 8-12, 2009 in Oklahoma, the tournament kicks off with a workshop entitled, “The State of the Native American Student-Athlete.” The workshop will address issues ranging from drug/alcohol abuse, diabetes, dropouts, financial aid, suicides and recruiting, vital issues that our Native American student-athlete must be prepared to address in their lives. To cap off Wednesday’s workshop, 4 Love of the game will give their version of a Luau and dance, Maui style! Plans are underway to secure the water park for the entire evening so teams can keep cool, enjoy a huge feast and participate in a co-ed volleyball tournament. Thursday and Friday will bring about pool play to decide the seeding for the double elimination tournament that begins Saturday morning. The fans’ favorite, Rising Stars events, similar to Madness In March, will take place Friday night. And last, but not least, the coach’s will be pacing the sidelines dressed in their complimentary Hawaiian shirt. Finally, the event will end with a formal awards banquet. Those in attendance will be treated to a Muscogee (Creek) feast, presentation from a special guest speaker and witness the awards presentation and books/supplies scholarships.

Comments:  The Annual Warriors' Showcase Shootout has been held during Thanksgiving Weekend for the past five years. The 6th Annual Warriors' Showcase Shootout was held November 28 - 30, 2008 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Last year's tournament featured 66 boys and girls teams made up of young, talented, Native American basketball All-Stars from ages five to 14 years old throughout Oklahoma and Mississippi. Our goal with the Warriors' Showcase Shootout is to create an affordable, well organized, family oriented event filled with strong and healthy competition where our Native American youth can showcase their talents and abilities on the hardwood court. During the three-day tournament, teams will compete in a double elimination tournament to determine who goes home with the hardware. Time permitting, after every 13-14 year old team plays two games, a committee will select members from each team to compete in an East/West All-Star game. In conjunction with the tournament 4 Love of the Game plans to create a charity event to help those less fortunate in the Native American Community. In the past, 4 Love of the Game organized an Angel Tree Project and Thanksgiving Turkey giveaway. Last year 4 Love of the Game gave away over 90 turkeys to less fortunate families.

Comments:  The 6th Annual All-Indian Madness In March Tournament was held March 18-22, 2009 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Fifty-three teams (30 boys and 23 girls teams) made up of High School Indian All-Stars from schools and communities throughout Oklahoma, as well as Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Dakota competed for the coveted Gold Ball! The tournament officially kicked off with a College Prep Day on Wednesday. The seminar is geared toward preparing our Native American youth for the rigors of college life. Warrior Elite, Day of Champions, Sterling University and Nicholas Howk were this year's guests speakers. Wednesday's activities concluded with a trip to Oklahoma City to watch the OKC Thunder and the Chicago Bulls compliments of 4 Love of the Game. The fans' favorite event of the week was Friday Night's Rising Star Activities complete with 3 Point, Slam Dunk and Coaches' Challenge. A packed house witnessed the showcase of hardwood skills, including an aerial display by this year’s champion Lane Adams, from Red Oak, Oklahoma. The night was capped off with a dance held at the host hotel. Teams competed in pool play all day Thursday and Friday morning vying for the #1 seeds in the single elimination tournament that began on Saturday morning. When the dust cleared The Lady Reds, coached by Harold Fox, defeated the very talented and relentless B-Ball Diva’s from Pine Ridge, South Dakota. The Oklahoma Choctaw’s, led by dunk champ Land Adams and sharp shooting Derek Anderson, outlasted the Choctaws from Mississippi, the Chiefs coached by Tim Cumby. At the formal awards banquet the MVP's, Outstanding Offensive/Defensive Players, Scholarship recipients and selections for the All-West Basketball Classic boys and girls team were announced.
